Welcome to my website, which is dedicated to all lovers of dance music, and to Psychedelic Trance in particular.

I'm Dark Angel, or Barclay to those who know me. I was recently interviewed by Bubble Jam Delite, click here to read it. Here's a bit about me, and my background.

I'm 47 and live in England. Music became a major influence in my life when I was in my teens, with bands like Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream, Yes, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, and later people such as New Order, The Cure, Japan, and although maybe a bit cheesy, The Police. Then rave came along, and I was hooked. Instantly I understood - a whole new world opened up before me.

That was in the late 80s. It was an amazing time, full of innocence and wonder, but due to various events in my life around that time, it wasn't until about 1998 that I bought my first set of decks - Technics, of course. Dear me, how I struggled ;-). Still, it wasn't too long before I was playing, and helping to organise, Free State - an Acid Techno night in Reading.

Following the heady days of the 1987/88 it was the next big instalment of my deep and constant love of the music, the scene, and the people. I joined a squat party rig, "Insanity", and before long found I was playing out all over the place, and getting more deeply involved than I ever expected to be. I started promoting my own night - Inna?State, and became a resident with a couple of other nights. I could hardly have been happier with it all.

These days I play as often as I can, and I also organise, or help or organise events. I'm resident with Inna?Turtle (my own free Psy-Trance gig at the Purple Turtle in Camden, London), The Awakening (Psy-Trance) in Manchester and Reading which I also co-promote, Technosense (Acid Techno), and Magic (an eclectic mix of styles). A special mention for Fushion (another varied mix of styles) is necessary here too I think. I play at other nights of course, and house parties can be great fun as well. The ones after Magic are a perfect example ;-).

So, Psy-Trance is my 1st love, but I also play Acid Techno and chill-out. I can't play enough - just ask. You'll soon see what I mean!

I always get a bit tongue tied when it comes to asking if I can play for nights, but if you want to book me, see the contact details above. I'm a jockey slut - any time, any where ;-).

My motivation? Helping people to find joy - taking them away from the shark infested lives we all have to live from time to time. If the crowd is happy, so am I. It's a privilege to play for people. I know that sounds way too hippy, but it is how I always feel. I owe an immense debt to those who come to hear me play. Thank you so very much!

Helpers, supporters and friends? There are just too many people to thank. I once counted those who help at Inna?State. I lost count at 24! It's amazing how much work people do. Anyways, here's just a few in no particular order: Caz, Paul, James, Rob, Ting, Julz, Nick, the Kaptain, Mark, Sylke, Sean, Jimjam, Beany and Dooza Steve. And of course a special mention for Wendy, my love and my soul mate. I'd be half the man I am without her....
