REVIEW
OHHHHH MYYYYYYY GOD! What a f##king weekend!!! Having gone alone, thought it might be a bit wierd. But no! met a groovy bunch of people on the bus and slept for most of the way there. The hostel I have to say wasn't all that, but then that's not why I went there. When I arrived at the parade at midday, things were kicking, I have never in all my life, heard such a racket! Every float seemed to have a soundsystem bigger than the one before. Their was one at the front playing some of the most astounding D+B which just seemed to boom for miles. There were 40 floats in total apparantly, and the journey lead us though many crowded streets for 4 miles if you followed the exact route. When we reached the Bastille, I couldn't really move any more so I got up on top of a scaffold tower and took some wicked photos (to go up on the Poleshift site within the next week) and after we headed round the backstreets ahead of the parade to find beer and a nice spot to sit in. We climed some stairs and sent this guy into the bush to make space for us all above the street that the parade was passing down and took some more wicked photos.
The walk didn't seem to end. When we did finally reach the park the sound was AWESOME, so much noise. I have to say that it really was the loudest event I have ever been to. I was hoping to start setting something like that up for London, until somebody told me that it was the minister of culture who had organised the French one. Hmmm guess that would have helped.

More beer, more dancing, more beer, more dancing. Until 10:30pm when I went back to the hostel (more beer, more wine) and fell asleep at about midnight (on a Saturday!!! unheard of for me!) woke up dead early, in order to get to the Escape from Samsara after party avec ma chewns, the boat sailed 2 hours late, but when it got going that too was 'aving it! Mored up played possibly the fluffist set I've ever played and had you guessed it MORE BEER! Just as we were getting off the boat the heavens opened. I have never felt so wet, so happy, and soooooooooo totally high on life ever! GREAT TIME! At the bar, there was more beer, more wine and a shit load of Baileys, two French people, 3 British and Alex the random Spaniard (very cute tatooist).

Just made it back for the gruelling journey home, only way to deal with the uncomfortable coach was to get as trashed as possible and it seemed we weren't the only ones thinking the same ting. :)
